Troop 349 Dues and Rechartering

Hello Troop 349,

We are in the process of registering our Troop and our scouts for the coming year.  After much discussion, the troop committee set the annual dues once again at $100 per scout, and $90 for each additional brother in the troop.

Please Submit a your dues, checks made payable to BSA Troop 349, by the November 18th meeting so that we can meet the Suffolk Council deadlines.

If you need to discuss this, please see me at any meeting or contact me using the information below.  I’d be happy to take the time and discuss it with you.

September 30th Meeting Change

Troop,

Due to meet the teacher night we will not meet at Great Hollow this Wednesday.
We will meet at the AMF Bowling lanes, 200 Landing Ave Smithtown, 7:30 to 9:00 cost $10.00 all welcome.
I hope to see you at the Bowling Alley.

September Events

Troop 349,

Another scout year is about to begin.  Here are a couple of things on our calendar.

 

September 7 – flag set up on Main street.  8:00 am up, 5:00pm down meet at the storage facility off main street behind James Crest florist.

September 9- our first meeting back at Great Hollow, 7:30 – 9:00

Yawgoog Details 2015

OK Troop 349 – it’s Yawgoog time!  Here are details for Saturday and the Care Packages:
    Saturday July 11 – Trailer Pack up. 10:00 to 12:00 at my house, 5 Short Court Nesconset.  If other arrangements are needed send me an email.
Please have a parent & scout check in at the table.  Talk to me if you are dropping off medications Medications.  Put them in a zip lock bag and write instructions on a separate paper and put that in the bag as well.
Uniform Inspection Saturday – bring your full uniform on a hanger to the pack-up.
All payments are due Saturday.
All MEDICAL forms must be handed in as well. DON’t forget copies of the Insurance card.
Deposits to the Troop Bank can be made for scouts who have trouble being thrifty.  If you want your son to have $5 per day you need to deposit 7 $5 bills.  WE CAN NOT MAKE CHANGE AT CAMP.
Last second Packing reminders for scouts (things usually forgotten):
·        Day Pack – to carry stuff for ferry to and from Yawgoog
·        Nalgene bottles – so you can keep hydrated!
·        Scout books – to get all the signoffs you need
·        Hangers – to hang up your Class A uniforms in your tents
·        Flashlights or Lamps – lamps must be battery driven only
Sunday July 12 – we meet at Orient Point at 12 noonish to have lunch and relax a bit and take pictures before boarding the ferry.  We board the ferry for New London at 1:30 PM.
Tuesday July 14 – this Tuesday evening by 7:00 PM is the deadline to have “Care Packages” for the boys at Mr. Johnston’s house (8 St James Road, Lake Grove, cross Street Moriches Road).  The boys love to get their packages from home on Wednesday night, so thank you Pat & Georgette! Some guidelines:
·        Please keep the package to approximately shoebox size – we need to pack 65+ of them!
·        Please do not put in chocolate or items that can melt
If Mrs. J is not home you can leave your package on her front stoop! Thank you and see you no later then Tuesday July 14 th 7 PM.
Sunday July 19 – We arrive back at Orient Point around 5:20 PM (we take the 4 PM from New London).  Please come and meet up with your scouts so they can tell you what a great time they had!

Summer Camp News

Troop,

May is here and summer camp is just 10 weeks away.  Here is a link to sign up for camp  Due to some new camp requirements, The troop has less than 8 weeks to get our final payment, final counts, and preliminary paperwork to Yawgoog.  Camp & transportation fees total $450.00 per scout.
To this end I have to adopt the following schedule:
Reservation payment due to the Troop May 6 meeting –  $100.00
Mid term payment due to the Troop June 3rd meeting –  $250.00
Scout account to be applied to account after June 3rd meeting Notifications to parents by June 24
Final payment must be received by July 1st. mail to me or drop off to my mail box.   ~ $100.00
(Brother discount -$40 will be applied to final payment)
Medical forms – As soon as possible or due June 3rd Meeting
Special Diet request form (will be sent at end of May along with 2015 menu) – due back June 10th
