Turkeyfest Details — Scouts and adults will meet at 7:30am on Saturday, November 19 at the municipal parking lot across from the U-Haul at 29 Bellemeade Ave, Smithtown. We will pack up and leave by 8am. Anyone not there at 8 can meet us at the campsite. Please check in with the SPL if you are arriving at camp separately. We may need some additional drivers depending on how many people show up. Please let us know that morning if you can help out if needed.
If you haven’t paid yet, please Venmo @bsa349smithtown or bring an envelope with your name on it to give to Mrs. Weisberg or Mr. Lasher.
The event is at Schiff Scout Reservation aka Camp Wauwepex, 1606 Wading River Manor Rd, Wading River, NY 11792. (Not Baiting Hollow.) We have reserved the new dining hall this year. Make a left upon entering. You may have to park in the parking lot and walk the road to the dining hall, or you will be asked to move your car later. I recommend bringing a flashlight for walking back after dinner in the dark.
We will be setting up camp, preparing the cooking areas, prepping food, playing games, doing signoffs, and enjoying the day together outside. Dress for the weather, especially those sleeping overnight.
A light lunch of homemade corn chowder will be served around 1pm, and dinner around 4:30pm.
All scouts are expected to assist with cleanup after dinner so this work is not left to those staying over night this year. There are mountains of pots and pans to wash, and we will leave the dining hall as clean as we found it.
For those sleeping over, we will have some breakfast and drive everyone back to Smithtown arriving approximately 10:30am. If we do not have enough adults to bring the boys home on Sunday, we will reach out for help via Remind.
Please bring a non-perishable food item for a local food pantry for each person attending to help us give back to our community.
See you all on Saturday, Mr. Lasher

New message from Jim Lasher’s Troop 349 class

Troop Family,
Good news–although we didn’t achieve our goal of matching last year’s wreath sales, we have decided to extend the opportunity to sell these items by one week. Please get your final orders in by the meeting on Wednesday, November 9 with a new order form. I’ve attached the file. Thank you to the 23 families who have participated in this fundraiser for our troop. We can exceed our goal with another 6 family orders of $250 which is the average amount each family has sold. For each $50 sold, $5 is added to your scout account to use towards a future campout.
Thank you all!
Mr. Lasher rmd.me/PJCaeNIx7Qx
