Announcing: COVID-19 Community Response Award for Scouts & Patch Design Contest
Award Description:
In an effort to support our communities during this pandemic, the Scouts (all programs) from Suffolk and Nassau county have provided amazing service to their fellow citizens.To recognize these achievements, the Suffolk County and Theodore Roosevelt Councils have joined together in offering the COVID-19 Community Response Award. This award is aimed to recognize scouts that have made a difference in helping their communities and to encourage other scouts to get involved…safely. Requirements:
Write a paragraph or two describing:
* The service that was provided – why you selected this service and who benefited by your service * How you shared what you did with other (promoted on social media) * How many hours spent in performing the service (a minimum of 3 hours is suggested) * Complete the application (one page including the above information along with Name, Address, Phone Number, Council, District, Unit, Town, Unit Leader) * <mailto:SCCBSACOVID19award@gmail.com?subject=Award%20Submission> Each scout MUST eMail their individual applications to: <mailto:SCCBSACOVID19Award@gmail.com> SCCBSACOVID19Award@gmail.com
Recognition:
For scouts who have submitted a qualifying application, they will be recognized with a special COVID-19 Community Response Award patch. We are looking to have a scout design the patch. One lucky scout’s design will be chosen, created, and used for the award.
Patch Design Rules: DEADLINE JUNE 8 #1: The contest is only open to BSA registered youth #2: Entries must include all listed items above #3: Entries may use any art medium (colored pencils, crayon, computer graphics, etc.) #4: Entries must be received by Monday, June 8th, 2020 #5: Entries must be submitted to: <mailto:sccbsacovid19award@gmail.com?subject=Patch%20Design%20Submission> SCCBSACOVID19Award@gmail.com
The Patch will be used to recognize each scout who completes the requirements for the SCC/TRC COVID-19 Community Response Award. The winner will be selected by June 10, 2020 and announced during the virtual campfire.
