Important end of scout year information: Hello Troop 349 families, Please note these updates about troop upcoming activities: Yawgoog Summer Camp: This year for summer camp, rather than bringing us copies of medical forms, Yawgoog is participating in an online system called CampDoc where you upload the necessary information. As admins, we can see the status of everyone’s submissions. The email to register comes from “Narragansett Council, BSA via CampDoc ” If you did not receive this email, please let us know asap. We were just informed that there were issues with the system. Those who were already uploading documents need to check if any data was lost. Here are some details needed to complete the Camp Docs forms: We are from Suffolk County Council #404. Your Scout’s BSA ID is found in Scoutbook. For Authorized Adults use: James Lasher, 631-764-6303, 27 Garvey Drive, Hauppauge, NY 11788. For additional adults, use Tom Keenan, 631-672-9707 and Mike Wichtendahl, 631-484-7343. Camporee Campers FRIDAY: We will meet at the usual location across from the U-Haul at 5:45 and leave for Southaven County Park at 6pm. We don’t have enough adults going to transport the boys, so if anyone is able to drive some boys, that would be a big help! If you are driving directly there and not meeting us, please let me know via text on Friday. 631-764-6303. If you need to meet us Saturday morning, also let me know on Friday. Gates open on Saturday at 7:30, breakfast is 7:30, activities start at 9.
Have dinner at home before going on Friday, or bring something that doesn’t need to be cooked. There will be some food available for purchase. Food is provided for all meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
There will be plenty of liquid sunshine this weekend. Raincoats are a must, and if you have rain pants or other clothing to help keep your legs dry, that would be smart. This event is rain or shine and we’re outdoors all day. Bring a towel and warm dry clothes to change into. Bring Class A uniforms for Saturday under those raincoats!
We should be ready to leave Sunday by 10am. Again we need help getting back to Smithtown. Keep in touch if you’re able to assist with driving on Sunday. Let’s go have some fun!
