September is National Preparedness Month – Be Prepared!

As we enter September and say goodbye to Summer and say hello to the restart of school, we also hello to National Preparedness month. This year’s motto is” Disasters Don’t Wait. Make Your Plan Today.”   For Scouts, Preparedness is part of our motto!  For a number of you who took the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge, you should know Preparedness is not a “One and Done” activity so even if you already have a plan, you should dust it off and see if it should be updated.   2020 has been an especially challenging year with a Health crisis, civil strife, and natural disasters and has demonstrated to all us that we need to be prepared for a number of scenarios and that they can happen at the same time.

Each week we post an article on the week’s topic from the Ready.gov to help you in your preparedness us the Plan Do Check Act.   So, keep an eye out for them so that you can “Be Prepared”

Tyler Stephen Hans installed fencing, gates, and a small library at the youth building at the St. James Lutheran Church in Saint James, NY, allowing users to take or donate books to read.

Legislator Leslie Kennedy, along with other officials were honored to present each new Eagle Scout with a Proclamation highlighting each of their achievements, “to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout exemplifies the development of leadership, self- reliance and other qualities so sought after by young men, these four new Eagle Scouts exemplify such character”, said Kennedy.
