CAMPOUT ALERT: rmd.me/hY.Q1pquw2R April 28-30 Suffolk Council Camporee Campout @ Southaven Park. This tent campout will take place Friday through Sunday, April 28-30 at Southaven County Park, Yaphank, NY.
The troop will depart from the municipal parking lot across from UHaul on Bellemeade Road, Smithtown at 6pm on Friday, April 28, and will return to Smithtown on Sunday, April 30 at approximately 12:00 pm. We will need some extra help driving the boys that evening. Bring sleeping bags and pads, warm clothes for an outdoor weekend including hat and gloves, snacks, water in refillable bottle. (Nalgene 32oz) Pack your Class A uniforms for Saturday.
The cost for adults and scouts includes 3 meals on Saturday and Sunday breakfast. Weekend events will include over 200 activities, games, exhibits and things to do including the big evening show ending with a laser light show. Have dinner before coming Friday, or there should be some vendors there. The cost is $55 per person (including adults) if you sign up and pay by the Troop meeting on April 12. After that the cost is $60 through April 22 when registration is closed. There are limited spots available but pay now and if you are not accepted you will be refunded asap.

We meet Friday after dinner at 6:45pm sharp for a 7pm departure. Be at the usual parking lot on Bellemeade Ave. Bring your mess kits, Nalgene water bottles, and a lunch/snacks for Saturday. Sleeping bags, boots, etc. Pay attention to the weather- be prepared. We have a heated cabin and will be hiking. Bring a little $ in case we sign up for archery or BB gun shooting. ($7-10) We return Sunday, early afternoon.

Let’s go to Boston! Sign up for our once again annual spring historical trip now! This one is for scouts AND their families. This year we return to Boston by coach bus on April 15-16. We will visit several historical sites while walking the Freedom Trail, featuring our leadership scouts who will guide us with informative talks along the way. Scouts and leaders will be camping and families will reserve hotel rooms nearby. We meet at 6:30 Saturday morning and expect to return approximately 6:00pm Sunday evening. The cost is $190 per person and includes the bus, most food, attractions, taxes and gratuities. Just bring a bag lunch on Saturday and a refillable water bottle. Hello troop. We are looking for 4 volunteers to carry flags in the St James St. Patrick’s day parade. 1pm on March 11. Service hours will be provided. Contact Mr Lasher to sign up.

One announcement that was forgotten last night: The Smithtown Elementary PTA is looking for some volunteers (at least 8th grade) tomorrow (Friday) after school to paint the faculty room. Come anytime from 4pm on. They will be there until it’s finished. Questions? Ask Mrs. Mrs. Matejka, 917-856-2802.

Campers are expected back approximately 11:45.

An early estimate for the return of our campers is before noon. We will update as they get closer to home.

Weekend campers, please arrive at the parking lot across from the UHaul on Bellemeade Ave, Smithtown at 7am Saturday morning. Bring your mess kit and at least one full 32oz Nalgene water bottle. Bring a lunch for Saturday that you will eat along the hike. Carry a day pack for the hike. Wear hiking boots and bring comfortable shoes for in the cabin. Temps are in the 20’s at night, 30’s during the day. No rain is expected. Bring a sleeping bag, hat, gloves, and wear layers. Bring a snack, a football, a game, whatever–there will be time to relax with your friends. Let’s have some fun! We plan to return somewhere around 1:30pm but we will send updates as we get closer to home.
