Hello Troop 349! @everyone
If you plan on attending the Horseback Riding Campout at Connetquot State Park May 9-10 please sign up by Sunday. We need to submit a headcount to Parkview Riding Center so they can plan how to staff our visit.
Scout drop off will be Friday at 6:00pm at Parkview Riding Center and we will set up camp and have activities in the evening.
Please pack for an overnight campout including a sleeping bag, foam camping pad, and a change of clothes for Sunday. Keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately.
Bring a refillable water bottle and snacks for Saturday. Breakfast will be served to the scouts.
Siblings and Parents can meet us Saturday morning at 9:00am. The day should end around 1:30. Scouts will have the opportunity to earn the Horsemanship Merit Badge!

Hello Troop 349!
On Friday, May 9th, the troop will be camping at Parkview Riding Center at Connetquot State Park. We will camp overnight on Friday and on Saturday the scouts will learn all about horses and caring for horses, learn about safety when handling and caring for horses, and learn about riding and horsemanship. There will also be horseback riding on the trails in the State Park. Scouts will be able to earn the Horsemanship merit badge on this campout.
Overnight Campers will meet at Parkview Riding Center located at 989 Connetquot Ave in Central Islip at 6:00PM where we will set up camp for the night. Pack a snack for the evening and a bag lunch for Saturday. The troop will provide breakfast for everyone Saturday morning.
Please use the link to sign up as soon as possible. The Riding Center needs to coordinate the number of horses and trainers to help assist us and they are asking the troop to get a headcount.

Hello Troop 349! @everyone
For those joining us Saturday for the Washington DC Historical Trip, here is what you need to know:
-Meet at Nesconset Plaza before 6:00am. The bus will arrive at 6:00am and we want to get on the road as soon as possible. Please be on time!
-We will have bagels for everyone as ordered through the sign-up
-Bring a day bag with lunch, snacks and refillable water bottle. Keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately. Scouts should be in Class A uniform
-Scouts should pack an overnight bag for cabin camping including sleeping bag, change of clothes for Sunday (Class A Shirts again in the morning)
Saturday -The bus should arrive at the Lincoln Memorial approximately 11:00am
-The Troop will visit the Lincoln Memorial and walk the National Mall, visit the Vietnam Memorial Wall, see the Washington Monument and continue walking to the Museum of American History. We will eat lunch somewhere along the way or at the lunchroom at the Museum of American History.
-The Troop will visit the Air and Space Museum. The bus will depart around 5pm for Camp Snyder
-The bus will arrive at Camp Snyder at 6:00pm and we will set up in the cabin for dinner. Pizza will be delivered at 6:30pm.
-Parents and siblings will board the bus after dinner and head to the hotel for the evening.
Sunday
-Scouts will start their day at Camp Snyder, clean up their bunks and gear and eat breakfast.
-Parents will board the bus to Camp Snyder at 8:00am
-Bus will Arrive at Camp Snyder at 8:15 am
-Bus will leave Camp Snyder at 8:30am and arrive at Arlington National Cemetery at 9:15am
-The Troop will visit the Tomb of the Unknown Solider and JFK Memorial. Leave Arlington National Cemetery at 11:00am
-Arrive at the Spy Museum at 11:30am
-Leave the Spy Museum at 1pm and head home with lunch on the bus: American and Italian heroes, tuna salad wraps, chicken salad wraps, and vegetable wraps.
-Arrive at Nesconset Plaza 6:00pm
Please keep in mind all times are approximate and depend upon traffic, weather, etc. We hope to keep to this itinerary, but we may need to be flexible too. Thank you for everyone’s support and cooperation. We are looking forward to a great trip!
