Please join Troop 349 on November 12th for its annual Thanksgiving celebration and sleepover at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp. That’s right, that annual Gala Event that attracts troop members of of all ages is only 2 1/2 weeks away. The adult leaders (one on in particular) are getting excited and the Turkeys are getting nervous!!!

Assistant Scout Master Ron Wallace will provide his skillful culinary leadership to our 1st Class Scouts (providing cooking sign-offs) while a delicious Thanksgiving banquet is prepared.
The cost for the Turkey meal is $25 per person. Please add an additional $10 per person if you wish to camp overnight.
Since cub scouts from local packs are invited, their cost is $15 per person for the meal. If a cub scout plans to camp overnight a parent must accompany the Scout on the overnight. The cost to camp overnight is $10 per person.
Please bring your check, made payable to BSA Troop 349, or cash to the Troop weekly meetings.
Payment is due by November 9th.
More details will be provided at upcoming Troop meetings.

If you plan to attend this fun and delicious meal and camp, please complete this form no later than November 9th.

For those of you who shopped for your patrols for last weekend’s campout, I wanted to say you all did a great job in camping and cooking in some bad weather. Way to tough it out!
Please remember to bring in your receipts to tomorrow’s meeting. When you sit with your patrols, why not discuss with your patrols whether you were within the budget, and did you eat well. The one thing this troop prides itself on is our food! Just wait until next month!
Here is a link to the troop expense reimbursement form. Please hand the form and the receipts into Ms. Villacci , You can either get a troop check or add it to your scout account to help pay for other trips.

I hope you all had a great time. Thank you.

Well, now that you are just getting settled into the School Year, it’s time to think about Summer!! (Wha??). That’s right, next Summer offers a whole host of activities that you can join. But before you “Pack up your Duffle”, you and your parents have some tough decisions to make. Some of your choices are:
- Yawgoog – We always a great time at “The Beach”. For those of you who have been there, Enough Said. For those of you who haven’t, talk to a buddy or troop member who has and find out what it is about.
- Philmont – I believe that Mr. Rubesh has a couple of spots that just opened up for the 2017 trek. I can tell you from personal experience that it is a once in a lifetime experience! (twice if you are lucky). There is an upcoming meeting on High Adventure Camps to learn more.
- National Jamboree – I know there were a couple of scouts that said they might be interested in going to National Jamboree this year. Suffolk County Council is taking a contingent to the National Jamboree at the Summit in West Virginia. Click on the “Read More”
If you are thinking about doing any of these, you need to have long conversation with your parents, because none of these great opportunities are cheap. Thank you.
