Here is our Canoe / Short Beach Camping Plan for tomorrow: Print, sign and bring this waiver: rmd.me/yF.p5StOhUB 7:30am – Those who can transport equipment meet at trailer to load 8:00 – Meet at the usual spot—parking lot on Bellemeade Road, Smithtown opposite the UHaul. 8:15 – Drive to Short Beach. We need some parents to help transport the boys to Short Beach 9:00 – Canoe trip starts at Short Beach, paddling south to Paul T. Given Park 11:30 (approximately) – Arrive at Given Park. Drive back to Short Beach. A few parents needed to transport boys back to Short Beach. If you are bringing your own kayak, you are responsible for having it picked up here at this time. 12:00 – Arrive by car at Short Beach. Lunch and setup campsite. Afternoon activities. 5:00 – Dinner. Troop 349G (girls) will be joining us for dinner and evening campfire. SUNDAY 7:30 – Breakfast 8:00 – Leave to place Flags on Main Street for Patriot Day. A few parents are needed to drive boys back to town from Short Beach. 8:30 – Flag placement on Main Street 9:15 – (Approximate time) Parents pickup scouts at UHaul – Bellemeade Road Smithtown
Pack a lunch for Saturday, and a refillable water bottle. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet for canoeing, a towel, and a change of clothes. Don’t bring phones, especially if canoeing. Wear sunscreen and a hat for the canoe trip. Bring warm layers and a hat for evening and overnight. It can get windy and cold at the beach. Bring a change of clothes for Sunday. No uniforms are needed. Bring your scout book for potential signoffs.
